Anika noni rose is an American actor and singer. Her most well-known role is Tiana, the Princess and the Frog's African-American Princess. She was honored as one of the Disney Legend. Rose was in Lorrell Robinson, the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born September 6 1972) is an American actor and performer. She is best known for voicing Tiana Disney's first African-American princess as seen in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011, she was named as a Disney Legend. She is best known for the role of Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2005) and her portrayal of LaVerne Jinglebox Ganner in Starz show Power. She's also well known for her performance on stage particularly for her starring roles of Emmie Thibodeaux and the Broadway production Caroline or Change (2004) in which she won the Tony Award Best Musical Featured Performance went to her. Also, she played Beneatha Youther from the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2015) for which she received the Tony Award Best Play Featured Performance award was presented to her.
